Headed home last Friday. The weather was glorious in the morning and far less so by the time we left, but it improved as we got closer to home. We stopped in Chapel Arm to drop off gifts to Carol's grandparents.
Spent all the time home doing as little as possible. Didn't do a lot of visiting, dropped off gifts at Angie's Christmas Eve, staying for one drink only, and then spent the evening at my brother's. Visited my great-uncle Jack on Boxing Day, and does he pour a killer glass of rum!
The nephew is doing well, he was smothered with gifts from Santa as usual. The bike/snowmobile helmet did arrive in time, but it's too tight, so is being returned for a larger model. He loves the clothes I gave him - he is the first little kid I've ever known to be as pleased with clothes as toys. Of course, he doesn't need any toys... or clothes for that matter.
There is a little snow now, making the trees nice and Christmassy-looking.
Drove back this afternoon with Carol. Gorgeous afternoon, perfect for the journey. The apartment is slowly warming up. I got water everywhere hooking up the little fountain that Mom gave me for Christmas. I'm still trying to decide whether it is soothing or driving me slowly mad.
The things I gave seemed to be appreciated, and I didn't get anything horrible. ;) Most of my gifts were housewares of one sort or another, as I haven't got so much I used to have. The microwavable heating pad will no doubt be good for my back & toasting my tootsies, and the wok and hand blender will get plenty of use!
