Because - well,
interlock's post cheered me up a bit, and rainy grey Mondays need that, and because the last thing I did before this was threaten to make and use a voodoo doll, so I must balance my karma a little, n'est-ce pas?
In no particular order - I even added a couple after I couldn't beleive I'd missed them:
* Friday I'm In Love - the Cure (for all sorts of reasons - but mostly because it's simply happy, boppy & good!)
* She Sells Sanctuary - the Cult (memories of the Cornerstone in St John's with Gene Leger - one of two songs he'd manage to drag me out on the floor for! (And he always came back to find me, which was sweet))
* New Year's Day - U2 (it's snow in my head - and for me, that's a good thing)
* Walking on Sunshine - Katrina & the Waves (a bit like the Cure track, if not as intensely guaranteed to lift the mood)
* Red Right Hand - Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (whenever I hear it, I get so involved in the sounds and rhythm that I forget what's on my mind)
* Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison (it's happy, lighthearted, and makes me smile)
* Lust for Life - Iggy Pop (happy with intent)
* Dancing Barefoot - Patti Smith (dreamily happy, very different from Iggy)
* Everybody Knows - Leonard Cohen (happy as a cynic - which I am)
* If I Had a Million Dollars - Bare Naked Ladies (if only for the Kraft dinner line!)
* Romeo & Juliet - Dire Straits (ah, young love)
There's loads more, but that's all the poor battered mind is currently yielding.
