I literally cannot get out the door.

Last night's snowplowing pushed so much snow over the wall of the stuff that was already there that I am completely blocked in. Got just outside the door and can't climb over it, because it's now raining - switching between real rain and freezing rain so the snow is "rotten" and you can't walk on it - it's so deep the probability of breaking a leg is very, very real. And my door won't lock anyway. The pressure on the door has pushed it out of true and the lock won't engage with the key.

I came back in and started phoning snowclearing services. The lack of sympathy was incredible, but I finally got a guy who said he'd send someone over. Hopefully. In an hour or so. then, I will find out if I need to call a locksmith - but the removal of the snow may allow the door to close properly. I don't know if it's pressure or it's actually shifted.

This is so not funny. I feel rather sick, claustrophobe that I am.

There was just a gorgeous cover of the Waterboys' "We will not be lovers" on the radio. Didn't catch the artist; female vocalist. Hmmmm... any idea who that might have been?

The partner of the guy I spoke to this morning finally - 3 hours later - answered his phone and said he came round at 9, but "You'd need a tractor to move it." And then didn't bother to call me back to say they wouldn't be able to do it.

Spoke to city hall, as it's their snowclearing equipment that pushed back so much that is the problem and I'm on the list for a callback. Maybe.

Managed to track down my landlady at her work and tell her the sob story - I was at a loss of what to do - and she's getting the guy who does jobs for them to call round. When he gets back from the job he's on.

So I'm stuck here until - whenever.

Dave at work actually said he'd come over and shovel. What an angel. I told him he'd run a mile if he saw the mountain.

I am very very uptight, This crosses two of my problem areas - one is claustrophobia and the other is asking people to do things for me, things that I feel I should be able to do myself.

On a brighter note, I found a lottery scratch ticket in my wallet while I was sitting here, waiting, and scratched it - won $50.

I shouldn't be as wound up as I am. Which is very.

Am at the office.
Landlady's handyman wouldn't take a tip.
Got one foot soaked due to slush lake at office building entrance.
Am being ribbed by coworkers.
Am being very much revieved.
Been recommended the Dixie Chicks by the boss. (Viz. "Wide Open Spaces") as cure for claustrophobia.

Many thanks for kind words. Can't believe how wound up I got.

Blood pressure slowly decreasing. Slowly.
