... of my trip to Quebec was that we were located in Saint-Sauveur, which is just a couple of miles from Morin-Heights. And in Morin-Heights was the location of Le Studio, where some of my favourite albums of all time were recorded. On one of my afternoon breaks on the hotel terrace, I was talking to a local, a Quebecois poet, who told me Le Studio was no more - a complete shock to me. Rush and April Wine used to record there; I remember pictures in "Canadian Musician" and the like - it was always on my pilgrimage list. Just a few minutes ago, MuchMusicRetro played Rush's "Tom Sawyer"` - the video was from the recording studio itself, and you can see the snowy Quebec countryside through the windows.

Sad to think it is no more. But it is for sale...

Oh, and Neil Peart's Quebec place is nearby too.
