According to Hooky...

New Order have broken up.

The band's publicist refutes this.

But if they have, it'll be Hooky who breaks the story, won't it?

According to a poster on the Guardian's blogs page:

"Jools Holland asked Hooky if he had any advice for up and coming bands? Hooky's reply was priceless:

'Keep your eye on the singer.'"

Yep.

The first postcard I sent back to a friend on arriving in the UK in 1986 was a Joy Division thing, bought in Manchester's Royal Exchange on a day much like this one: grey & wet. Between them & the Smiths, that was all I knew of the Northwest before I arrived there.
