Well, the time I spent last night trying to get my internet connection back was wasted:
(From VOCM, local radio station)
"An investigation is ongoing after an electrical fire at an Aliant substation in St. John's last evening knocked out phone and internet services for several hours. Over 100,000 people were affected by the interuption, which happened just after 10 o'clock. It affected emergency services, telephone services, cellular phones, bank machines and long distance calling for nearly six hours in the greater St. John's area, and knocked out internet service to the entire province. Aliant's Brenda Reid says the fire caused damage to their DC Power Supply system."
The entire province. So there's no backup/failsafe system then? This probably cost a lot of people a lot of money, not my little inconvenience.
