But I've learned yet another peril of smoking. I really shouldn't have started again, I know. Today, we had just visited the Tim Horton's drive-through, and dropped Mom off to pick up Dad's diabetic supplies, when I pulled my purse off the dash to grab a cigarette (it's best when she's out of the car & can't castigate me) and somehow, I managed to hook the bag's strap around the coffee in the cupholder and pull it out, scalding my thigh with a cupful of steaming hot mocha.
Ouch.
I'm glad we were stationary, because my yelp would have made Dad veer off the road otherwise.
The leg is rather red & tender, but, fortunately, no worse than that. And I know it wouldn't have happened if I weren't smoking again.
Otherwise, a pleasant enough day. I cooked Sunday dinner as Mom & Dad spent the morning at Terra Nova cleaning out the trailer (accompanied by the nephew, of course), and the quiet house was so unusual. Jeff didn't make it to lunch - looks like last night was a bit heavy, b ut is driving me to St John's tomorrow to view some flats. a couple look promising - one with a pretty good view of the harbour and a big deck out back I like the sound of, for sure.
The musician doing the "Under the Influence" program on the radio tonight is one I saw quite a few times way back when - Haywire. I seem to recall sending their soundman a pitcher of beer one night...
