Oh dear, oh dear. What a surprise. The only Newfoundland member of the cabinet has the fisheries portfolio. I guess this is meant to keep criticism of federal mismanagement to a minimum? Or maybe it's because, well, what else could a Newf do? He won't be too busy; no fish.

A look?

I was just browsing over lunchtime and came across someone's blog entry where they describe the look for their hometown (Boston, USA, as it happens). I remmeber when I came to the UK, there were things that stuck out to me - it's all a bit blurry now. I remember that I simply had to have a pair of the lacy tights women in London were wearing. (It was 1986...)

Do you think there is a regional "look" where you live? Or among the people you know? If so, what is it?
