Why couldn't someone have covered this?

samae wonders why the "stars" of the Katrina relief telethon covered lame songs. She went on to mention that two John Fogerty songs were covered although JF didn't appear. Maybe if he had, he would have done "Fortunate Son"? That would have been priceless!
