Today, the Hanna Springs Intermediate School in Lampasas, Tex., will raise money for a new fence by raffling off a couple of rifles. Winners must be at least 18. One of the mothers organizing the event successfully lobbied the state legislature in 1995 to pass a concealed-handgun law.
